Oprah's Long Goodbye Begins With Tears

Posted Friday 20 November 03:58 PM By: PopEater Staff

With her eyes welling with tears, Oprah Winfrey looked directly at her viewers on Friday to explain why she will be ending her show in 2011 after a quarter-century on the air. It was prayer and careful thought that helped her decide, she said. "I love this show. This show has been my life. And I know when it's time to say goodbye."

"Twenty-five years feels right in my bones and feels right in my spirit."

Winfrey offered no specifics about her plans for the future, except to say that she intended to produce the best possible shows during her last 18 months on the air.

Scores of Joss Whedon fans were disappointed to hear that his latest show, 'Dollhouse' has been canceled by Fox. We'll get to see the remaining episodes, and they had the news in time to wrap up the story, but that's cold comfort for most of us. We caught up with star Eliza Dushku on the red carpet for the US Weekly Hot Hollywood event, where she was being honored as "Cult Fave of the Year". While she dashed our hopes of 'Dollhouse' continuing in comic book form, she said she'd like to be part of the upcoming 'Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog' sequel, and that her Robert Mapplethorpe biopic (which she has been working on for eight years) is finally getting made.

When Fiona -- raised on the likes of Sam Cooke -- came by, she talked about her debut album, 'The Bridge.' When Celebs and Designers Unite: the Good, the Bad, the Ungaro

Posted Friday 20 November 01:45 PM By: Tracey Harrington McCoy

From Lindsay Lohan "helping" Ungaro to Hayden Panettiere guest-designing for Dooney & Burke, high-profile partnerships between celebrities and fashion designers have become the trend du jour. Almost every week, a new star adds "fashion designer" to her resume by teaming up with an established design house and releasing a collection.

This week, Elle Magazine highlighted the latest celebrity/design house collaboration -- this one between British pop tart Lily Allen and high-end fashion powerhouse Chanel led by style icon Karl Lagerfeld (more here). While we like this particular pairing (charming-yet-outrageous singer meets stylish grandpa!), we can't help but remember past star/designer unions. Some were fabulous ... and some were, well ... Here, we take a quick look back.

'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' opens on Friday. Of course, you already know this unless (a) you've been living under a rock or (b) you have no interest in teenage love stories centered around vampires and werewolves -- which seems like the more likely scenario considering the human mortality rate of under-rock living. How do you navigate through the throes of 'Twilight' office conversations that inevitably could leave you labeled a popular culture lightweight. These tips and options should get you through the next few days of 'Twilight' insanity:
