Chris Brown's Smackdown With Oprah

"Whatever goodwill he had, he's totally ruined it by saying that. What was he thinking? And who the hell goes up against Oprah? It just shows he doesn't think. No one is going to want him as the face of their brand," the source added.
Brown argues that he, "did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could have been more helpful, like, 'OK, I'm going to help both of these people out,'" he added.
For now, Oprah's only comment comes from her rep."Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school, but she takes domestic abuse very seriously. She hopes he gets the counseling he needs."
According to Brown, that's exactly his plan. "I want to understand my feelings," Brown tells PEOPLE. "I want to find out what really transpired as far as me that night. Sometimes when you're young you don't know how to express [your emotions], so I think it actually would be helpful to talk to a counselor or to somebody who has an expertise in what those [feelings] are."
The singer adds, "I wanted to take the counseling upon myself and ... just talk to someone. I just need to talk to someone. I wanted to understand the problem at hand."
Brown still doesn't believe he has a problem controlling his anger, but he accepts he might be proven wrong in therapy. "If I do, I will work with my counselor and hopefully channel my anger into something like dancing," he says. "I don't think I would get that mad again. I want to be a man, so I have to be more responsible .... I'd rather walk away."
The Brown-Rihanna Case
Chris Brown has been sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community labor for his felony assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna in February.

In his first communication with the public about the attack this summer, Brown told his fans how sorry he is about the beating incident. "I am very sad and very ashamed of what I have done... I've told Rihanna countless times and I am telling you all today that I am truly, truly sorry that I wasn't able to handle the situation both differently and better. " he said.
TMZ
Back in April, Brown pleaded not guilty to both assault and criminal threat charges in court.

Brown's manager, Tina Davis, was named by TMZ as the woman behind the text message that sparked his alleged beating of Rihanna. She has since denied the claims, saying: "The rumors in circulation are false. There are no emails between Ms. Davis and Mr. Brown of the type which have been described in media reports."

Court documents revealed that the police report claims Brown allegedly assaulted Rihanna in his car after she discovered a text message on his phone. According to the report, Brown smashed her head against the window, and then punched and bit her.

TMZ obtained a photo that appears to be singer Rihanna, taken shortly after Brown allegedly beat her following a pre-Grammy party. Police have said the woman had visible injuries, and that Brown was gone from the scene when they arrived.
TMZ
Brown can be seen leaving the police station after being booked. According to police reports, he assaulted Rihanna in the car, and told her "I'm going to beat the s--- out of you when we get home." He also allegedly threatened to kill her after she told her assistant to call the police.

In their cover story, PEOPLE spoke with the father of Rihanna, who says he hopes his daughter is done with boyfriend Brown after his alleged assault. Shortly after, reports that Rihanna and Brown were back together in Miami emerged.
PEOPLE
Brown, seen a day before the alleged attack, released a statement on Feb. 15, which read in part, "Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired."

Chris Brown's nothing but a thug. Any woman that stays with someone like him, who hits, is a fool. Of course, there's a lot of us nice guys out here who never get a chance, because women love a bad boy, but I say, "careful what you wish for"

NO ONE AND I DO MEAN NO ONE WHO LOVES GOD AND THEMSELVES LIKES, LOVES, NOR APPRECIATES A "BAD BOY." IF ANY WOMAN, YOUNG LADY HAS ANY SELF RESPECT AND LOVE AND KINDNESS IN HER AT ALL WILL ALLOW OR APPRECIATE ANY ONE HITTING OR BEATING ON HER OKAY. IT'S JUST THAT PLAIN AND SIMPLE. YOUNG WOMEN PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO REALLY LISTEN TO THE SONG "I CHOOSE MEEEEEEEE!" AND MAKE SURE IN THIS LIFE THAT YOU ALWAYS CHOOSE YOUR SELF ABOVE ANY ABUSIVE NOTHING WHO CLAIMS TO BE A MAN. I DON'T CARE HOW FUINE HE IS, IF HE HAS A PROBLEM WITH HITTING AND BEATING AND CONTROLLING, CHOOSE ME AND LET THAT GO!! OKAAAAYE.

I just think that Chris Brown made a mistake. He's not a thug. Thugs sell drugs, they kill people, and have no regard for the law. Chris is not a thug. This young man loves his mother dearly. Thugs don't apologize profusely. He is learning the hard lesson of channeling his anger. Rihanna is not a helpless young girl. She has her own power, ego, sexuality and youthfulness that she has to deal with. And both of them have turned into sex symbols to their age group. So dealing with their youth, hormones, wealth, and careers that demand them to grow up in a very very unusual way, they probably cling on to each other because they're so similar. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean that are mature enough to know what a relationship like theirs would take for trust to be built. Chris has a number of women who probably wait for him after performances, and Rihanna has men who try to charm her all the time. It probably can get more messier than the public eye can see.

As a woman, I've always liked men who could take responsibility. Cooperation floats my boat.
To me, bad boys are nothing but immature men. I don't even like bad boys who are 5 years old.

A thug? How the hell do you know? Were you there during the incident? And did she do anything to him? You are quick to judge without knowing all the facts. If he were white would he be a thug? Can a female that slaps a man be a thug?

YO RODNEY: You weren't there either. You are a prime example of 'mouth in motion' before 'brain is engaged.' Who cares if she did anything to him, he had absolutely no right to inflict a 'beat down' on her. Yes, that makes him a thug! You too, Rodney, are quick to make an assumption without having the facts. Then you go and play the race card. Rodney, it's a proven fact; that when a person goes to name calling, or in your case, race card.....you are dealing with an uneducated, low self esteem, very angry Mama's boy, black man. Rodney, that's you. To add to your own baggage, you choose to defend a women beater. Which implies you condone Chris's behavior. It's curious, what do you get out of this loyalty? Chris doesn't even know you are in this world and you willingly make a complete fool of yourself. It appears you may have a volatile relationship of your own because of your anger. Is that why you relate to and are supportive of Chris? It seems you have been outed. Rodney, you and Chris are no better than a double scoop of warm steamy dog squeeze! That's the highest compliment I can bestow on both of you. Rodney, get help on your anger.

Oprah Winfrey supports freedom of speech, as long as she approves of what you're saying. Chris Brown just committed career suicide.

Good, that's what he deserves and more. No one should buy anything that has to do with him. He's not even man enough to admit he HAS a problem. Sure he wouldn't have done that to a guy. Wimp... ONCE A BEATER, ALWAYS A BEATER. I know.. I ended my marriage 15 years ago because of it!

If Oprah is any kind of human being and has any human compassion at all she will LEAVE Chris alone. She should be careful NOT to make things worse for this young man. He is still a boy and he is a human being who makes mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes so why is that only black people should be severely punished for the simplest mistakes they make. Oprah should not jump on this hateful white media bandwagon attacking Chris. The same hateful media is also attacking Rihanna because she does not want to speak against Chris. Chris has enough problems in this life from the Racist white media and the rest of the racist white world. He does not need Oprah helping them destroy him. Oprah should also realize that no matter weather she becomes or how powerful she thinks she is, she is still black and sooner or later this same racist media is going to turn on her too. Just as they did Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and numerous other black people. No black person is immune from this hateful, spiteful media and this includes Oprah. Sooner or later, they set out to destroy every black person they come in contact with and sooner or later they will turn on her as well.
Also, I cannot get over all these other jerks speaking against Chris as if they are perfect. They want to delude themselves into thinking they are any better than Chris. Fact is, most are not as good, but they sit in judgment as if they are somehow better. They are NOT; they are just hateful, mean spiteful and ignorant. All their hateful, mean spirited comments are just ridiculous.

You people really need to get over Oprah. And yes, I AM BLACK!! She is not GOD!!! She may be a billionaire a few times over but she is not the one to say if his career will end because of this episode with Rhianna. What I do not understand is, this young man made a huge mistake by putting his hands on Rhianna. He did not kill her for Christ sake. I, in no way, condone abuse of any kind because I have been there but I had the freaking sense to fight his ass off and I GOT THE HELL OUT!!! Chris Brown is not a thug! You people need to really understand what the definition of a "thug" is. This kid made a very poor choice and he is now paying a huge price for that. Rhianna is no saint. Look at her. She is walking around with her "breast" hanging out for the entire world to see. Since becoming the Princess of Pop...she seems to be spinning out of control but no one can see this. Does this mean that Chris should have been pounding on her...HELL NO!!! Women need to take better responsibility for the choices they make and for whom they date anyway. As for Oprah, the day that she starts calling the shots about anyone's life except her own...then the world will definitely go to hell!! God is the only one who holds Chris Brown's future and his life in his hands. Please, don't get this twisted! Again, OPRAH, AIN'T GOD...AND NEVER WILL BE!

What transpired between Chris Brown and Rihanna has nothing to do with Oprah Winfrey. Ms. Winfrey only featured a program about domestic violence, she did not inflict any harm on either Chris or Rihanna. Chris Brown is solely responsible for damaging his own professional persona. He needs to "grow up" and stop lashing out at other people. Such behavior is doing him more harm than good.

Ms O has a clear view of justice and I hope that she's taking in account both sides of the story before passing judgement on Mr Brown. My question is how many times has Rihanna hit, slapped or anything else before the rage flared up? How many times Mr Brown walked or tried to walk away?
Whether if its physical, emotional or mental abuse theres always a underlining problem. Hope Chris and Rihanna get the help they need from professionals and get the the love, affection, and support from their families, friends and fans.

The people who back Chris Brown (comments below) are exactly the same people who sound and look intelligent but would stay with an abuser. If a woman hits you - walk away - LEAVE !!!
The people below act like Chris Brown is justified because she punched her brothers or slapped before.
ATTENTION ALL REAL MEN: Walk away, stop, think and leave. But then again, you real men already know this.
