Last Friday, Conan O'Brien was rushed to the hospital after hitting his head during the taping of 'The Tonight Show.'
O'Brien suffered a concussion while racing 'Desperate Housewives' star Teri Hatcher -- but ever the professional, the late night host was back to work on Monday, and showed the video of his tumble. Watch It
"This floor, to roll cameras on it, has to be very hard. And I'm a big guy ... and I went back and hit my head and in that moment I just saw stars, but I tried to keep going ... I honestly don't remember this part but I ... tried to stand up but I couldn't stand up and I tried to throw to a replay which I did," he explained.
A clip of what happened next was then played. "I kind of couldn't speak at that point," Conan added.
O'Brien was later pulled aside by producers when he didn't understand what to do with his blue cards for the next guest, Seth McFarlane.
"It was like a menu for an Egyptian restaurant," he described of the cards.
Conan said that people began asking him questions like what year it was. "My first answer was, 'I know it's not 2011,'" he joked.
Andy Richter, who was present at the accident, also told tales of what happened that night. "I was in the front of the ambulance and I didn't know whether to tell you this or not but those paramedics took a lot of pictures of your penis. At one point it looked like they put sunglasses on it."
The comedian then offered his apologies to both Hatcher and McFarlane, since the show did not air.
Conan, it's "break a leg" dumass. KIDS DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME! But then every kid I know of, knows: don't run inside, if you want to run go outside. CONAN JUST ISN'T THAT MATURE YET.
Konan handles life with humor, no matter what happens. Bouncing on the floor as he did was quite dan- gerous, maybe even life threaten- ing. Noone can always anticipate injury, but head bumps account for a significant number of long-term problems. For kids, it's worse.
My prayer is that Konan enjoys a long and joyous career, knowingly since his injury.
Mr. Bad, Who would be the "you people" you refer to? Could it be the intelligent, moderate, people who care about peace and prosperity for all? The same majority of people who love the USA and elected Obama to lead this great nation!
AOL asks we keep posts classy, yet when it comes to Conan O'Brian there is a problem, he is not classy. The humor in even this clip was what one would expect out of a 12 year old boy or a very drunk fratboy. Conan's ratings are poor and will likely to continue to decline. Conan is a waste of network air time.
I actually like him a lot and I hope his show lasts! He is creepy looking, but he knows this and makes fun of himself for it. I love his cow joke last night too.
I AM NEVER UP LATE ENOUGH TO WATCH HIS SHOW, BUT AM GLAD HE IS OK. HEAD INJURIES , HOWEVER INNOCUOUS THEY APPEAR, CAN BE VERY SERIOUS. (REMEMBER NATALIE RICHARDSON) I AM GLAD HE APPEARS TO HAVE RECOVERED.
WHY DO YOU SUBJECT AOL USERS TO THIS BLATANT ADVERTISEMENT EVERY DAY???? (HOOKERS FOR RICH MEN.) I HAVE NOTIFIED AOL A HUNDRED TIMES, AND IT'S STILL THERE. SO I MUST ASSUME THAT IT IS A SITE THAT EITHER AOL OWNS, OR THAT THE WEBMASTER FOR THIS SITE OWNS. REMOVE IT! "flyerdu10001" IS THE CULPRIT.
I DON'T CARE FOR CONAN, BUT THANK GOD HE'S OK. I HAVE SUFFERED TWO CONCUSSIONS IN FIVE YEARS.AND STILL THE BACK OF MY HEAD IS RATHER TENDER. JUST PROVING THESE THINGS ARE NO JOKE. TO MAKE NASTY JOKES ABOUT SUCH THING IS JUST PLAIN MEAN.
All of you with the negative comments about Conan needing to"grow up'need to get the stick out of your butts.ANY person who can make fun of himself after having a concussion, in my book is awesome.Im pretty sure he is rather mature when the time comes to be serious, but he is a funny and goofy guy who CLEARLY has enough GOOD ratings to be on the Tonight Show...:)
