In a statement released on Monday night, Seal spoke for the couple, saying: "It's difficult to imagine loving another child as much as you love your existing children. Anyone who has a family will tell you this. Where will one find that extra love? If you love your existing children with all of your heart, how then can one possibly find more heart with which to love another?"
"On Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at 7:46 p.m., the answer to this question came in the form of our fourth child and second daughter," he continues. "Lou Sulola Samuel was born, and from the moment she looked into both of our eyes, it was endless love at first sight. She is beautiful beyond words and we are happy that she chose us to watch her grow over the coming years."
The couple's baby news was abruptly given out by Seal during a concert in April, much to the surprise of Klum, who planned on keeping things private a bit longer. "[The news] came out faster than I wanted it to ... My husband kind of surprised me and everybody at one of his concerts," Klum said following the leak.

Lou Sulola Samuel. Samuel is her last name and I don't know many boys with the name "Sulola." Besides, her mother is German and her father is Nigerian-British, so who is to say that "Lou" is not a popular girl's name in one of those countries.

The teacher can figure it out, if she or he has half a brain. I don't think we should limit our name choices to what people can and cannot understand anyhow.

U&hm, Samuel is the last name and Lou is not an uncommon girls name in the US either.

I like Heidi and Seal and think theirs is a beautiful love story. However, regarding the author of this article... how is it possible for this couple to "give birth"? Heidi gave birth. I can't stand when people say "we're pregnant" either, but them giving birth together is just taking this togetherness thing too far. Only the woman is pregnant, only the woman gives birth and the couple is expecting and their baby has been born... that's how it should be worded. Congratulations Heidi and Seal!

William, please clarify what you mean by your statement. I am very interested in knowing what exactly is that you mean. Thanks.

No offense to Seal -- but "the couple gave birth" isn't anything any Mom wants to be hearing. He may have been in the room, but I think Heidi was the one doing all the giving birth.....

Some people go to sperm banks and pick spermatazoa from handsome blue eyed blond intelligent doctors. Some choose overweight drug addict sperm donors. There is no accounting for choices, whatever floats your boat. I believe the child and his future, including his name, should be the main consideration. Not the parents emotional feelings.

I, for one, love transgender names. They are nothing new, but no one thinks a thing about the ones that are commonly used - Dawn/Don, Erin/Aaron, Carol/Carrol (remember Carrol O'Connor?), Jamie, Lee/Leigh, Pat,...the list goes on and on. I named my daughter Kevyn. The name fits her perfectly and is always an icebreaker. When people first meet her they usually do a double take or ask her to repeat her name - or spell it, but after that it's no big deal. If anything, she's more secure in herself by having a unique name and being proud of it.
